The Rules Of Golf Covering Player’s Responsibilities
Rules 6 to 9 of the USGA rules of golf cover player’s responsibilities. Rule 6 looks at such things as handicaps, starting times and group play, caddies, playing the correct ball, delayed or slow play and the discontinuance and resumption of play. Rule 7 then moves on to look at the player’s responsibility for practice and details such things as where and when a player may and not take practice shots. Rule 8 specifies the circumstances under which a player may ask for advice from, and give advice to, other players and, finally, rule 9 details the circumstances under which a player may enquire of an opponent as to the number of strokes which have been played.
