Do you TALK to BIRDS?
Really, Do you talk to birds? I do. I talk to all sorts of animals. Sometimes I think they listen and understand. Sometimes it is just so I am not talking to myself!
There was one time when I was watching a Northern Shrike chase an unidentified albino robin size bird. I had my favorite birding binoculars in hand and followed the chase as closely as the shrike allowed. The white bird was a little larger than the shrike and flew under a parked car. The shrike followed swiftly. And so did I. I said to the shrike DON’t Take that bird I want to see it first. Shrike did not obey.
