Underlying Themes in Return of the Jedi
In Return of the Jedi, we the audience know the Darth Vader still has good in him. Luke knows it. Despite Vader’s best effort to convince himself he can destroy his son, we know better. We don’t know however how it will unfold. That’s one element that makes Return of the Jedi classic Star Wars.
I grew up on Star Wars, and though many view the newer Star Wars movies as straying a bit too far from the themes presented in the originals, I am still a fan. This can, of course, be evidenced by my growing collection of Star Wars vintage action figures!
