distance learning gave birth to Open Universities in 1969 and Allama Iqbal Open University, Pakistan is first Open University of Asia established in 1974. Since then it has been transformed into highly contributing national university successfully offering various programs through distance learning. It provides educational uplift to those students, irrespective of their age category, who can not leave their homes and jobs. It also provides training facility for teachers in a ways it suits them. It disseminates knowledge of college, university, technical, vocational, higher education and specialist diplomas in various fields. It has brought revolution in education in Pakistan as all types of education at any stage of age has now become possible without taking any labour of sparing time for school, college or universities.
