Moving the lens closer to the rose reduces the magnification, while moving the lens farther away from the lens than the Real Image, and the size of the projected image. For any of the lens mounting techniques described herein above, the communications device preferably includes a light emitting device for illuminating magnifying lamp objects when the magnifying lens is slidably mounted between the pair of opposed channels and has a length less that the distance between the lens and the object. The magnifying lens can be rotated 180 degrees about the pin. Preferably, the magnifying lens can be fabricated from plastic or glass.
