Shrove tuesday goes whigh brow at a Manchester restaurant
If you are feeling like spending out this Shrove tuesday it would be worth you popping down to Manchester for one of the most expensive pancakes to date. The Manchester Restaurant at the Opus in the Printworks has created a pancke that follows the basic recipe of a pancake but has some costly additions including Dom Perignon Champagne Jelly and gold leaf that you can actually eat. All this to tie in with shrove tuesday, beat a record and blow away that sense of recession that is constantly in the air. Slightly beyond my means I must admit but a great use of flair to make this ordinary dish into something quite extraordinary.
