Heating with Water

You learn something cool everyday.  My neighbor was just showing me the new floor that he installed in his house.  It uses a technology called hydronic radiant flooring to heat the room from underneath!  Water gets boiled in a boiler in the basement, and sent up to pipes underneath the floor.  This makes it so that the heat actually radiates upwards through the floor and into the room. It’s a very slick system, and it’s cool because it doesn’t use any vents for heat.  It simply lets the heat come up through the floor all on its own, which is nice because there isn’t any air blowing around, just a pleasant heat.
