Galvanized window wells
Most houses have window wells in the basement that fills up with water, leaves, snow and even small animals. This is the case when the foundation does not extend above ground level. Galvanized Window Wells are the only solution to keep away water, dirt and dust out of the basement and let in sunlight inside it. The galvanized steel rusts and looks very awkward from the exterior which spoils the look of the house. Some people cover the window wells but this reduces sunlight and blocks the little view that you used to get from the basement window. Also this is a costly job.
