a treasured gift
Our “baby” daughter was having her first baby and was very clear about how things were to be. She knew the colors for the room (once the sex was determined) and the kinds of items she wanted. Her biggest wish was for a Rockingham reclining chair with glider. We went with her as she looked and tried, and were brought to tears to see her simulating holding her child in that chair. Her husband surprised her with the chair for Christmas, just 5 months before their baby’s birth. During each of our visits to see them, we were taken to view the baby’s room and the treasured recliner.
