Don’t bulk up just get toned with resistance training

I cringe when I see people working so hard to get bulked up by lifting free weights at the gym. They are creating a very fine tuned machine with their bodies, but there also creating something that will need to be maintained for life if they don’t want to get flabby later on in life. A better alternative for those of us that just want to stay fit is using exercise resistance bands to tone and shape our body rather then free weights. The benefits of resistance training are huge, but most people don’t take the time to learn. Did you know you actually get more of a work out with resistance training because as a band stretches the resistance increases, versus a free weight which at the end of a motion is mainly being moved by momentum.
