John Pennekamp Coral Reef State – Key Largo, Florida

Florida tourism offers you a wide range of different things to do and see.  One of those that will have you so glad you took the time to visit is the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State in Key Largo, Florida.  Visiting the first underwater park in the US is one of those special places. It encompasses approximately 79 nautical square miles.  On land you will be able to enjoy the mangrove swamps and tropical hammocks in the park’s upland areas.  The real beauty is below water level where you will see beautiful coral reefs and their associated marine life.Even if you aren’t a diver you can enjoy the beauty of the area by taking a tour on the glass bottom boats.  You will be able to see the fish and the coral reefs while staying dry.  Maybe you want to go canoeing or kayaking, you can do that too.  If you are a fisherman there area areas at the park that are available for you to try your luck.Handicapped visitors are most welcome.  The park is set up with nearly everything you could wish for including raised grills, raised toilets, ramps, roll-aboard boats and much more. So get out and enjoy the park, they will be delighted that you came to visit.
