Every year around late May there is a hot air balloon event in Helen, Georgia.  It is the Helen to the Atlantic race and is quite a spectacular event to see and photograph.  I arrived in Helen very early on the morning  that the balloons were scheduled to lift off.  I did not want to miss the opportunity to photograph these behemoths of the sky.  What a sight!  And I was amazed at how fast they were filled with hot art and then set aloft.  I was running from one location to another shooting one balloon and then another.  I have two photographs in my portfolio from that day.  I hope to go back again and capture some more.

If you could have seen the look on my husbands face when he opened up the bass fishing tackle with the note on it saying that he had a date on March 25th with Rowland Martin to go fishing you would have died! I find that when you set a table for a special occasion, whether or not it is a holiday, you should make the table look special.  Use chargers under your dinner plates and special serving bowls.  Place mats and napkins are a really nice touch.  Maybe you need flowers in the center or a nice center piece.  What really helps set the table off, though, is a nice set of sterling steel flatware.  The silverware really helps the table shine.  If you have a nice set of flatware to use for special occasions, then your table will always be special.
